International movement

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies was established in 1919 and is headquartered in Geneva. It encourages and supports all forms of humanitarian assistance provided by individual National Societies in order to fulfill the basic mission - to alleviate human suffering and preserve the peace and dignity of the people. The IFRC / PE provides all possible support to National Companies in their specific programs, sometimes mediating between them to provide more assistance in case of need. In large-scale international campaigns to help victims of disasters, wars or other crisis situations, the IFRC / PE is a constant mediator and source of ideas for funding and mutual assistance. IFRC / PE is an advocate of the interests of individual national companies at the international level. Since September 1994, the IFRC / CP has had a permanent representative and observer at the UN General Assembly.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is an independent private humanitarian organization working as a neutral mediator in armed conflict. It is the initiator of the creation and consolidation of international humanitarian law and works in full accordance with its principles. Provides protection and assistance to victims of conflict, whether prisoners of war, civilians, the wounded, the sick, people displaced from their homelands or the population of the occupied territories. ICRC delegates also visit people detained for political reasons in prisons, trying to ease their living conditions and provide them with support. In order to fulfill this mission, the ICRC has an administrative and organizational structure, based in Geneva. In addition, the ICRC has an International Search Agency, which receives, registers and transmits information to the families and relatives of victims of armed conflict, searches for missing persons, reunites members of families separated from armed conflict, and assists them in issuing various documents.
